Portraits are more than a purchase, they're an Investment
They’re an investment in your family, and generations to come. With everything digital these days, we feel that a printed and displayed portrait is now more important than ever. Sure you can share your images freely over the internet with friends and other family, but what about the family within your own home? Do you have to turn on an electrical device just to see your treasured photographs?
When considering the size of portrait to choose, reflect on where you will be viewing the portrait from. Somewhere close at hand; a bedside table, hall stand, or office desktop can easily display a smaller portrait size where the viewing distance will be within a few feet. Larger wall portraits are appropriate for various reasons, but most importantly to be able to view and enjoy the portrait from a normal viewing distance which is more likely to be 8 to 15 feet away. The rule-of-thumb says that the ideal viewing distance is 2-4 times the diagonal of the image (not the frame).
PLEASE NOTE: There are many more options available than are listed here. We also offer Collages, Greeting Cards, Folios and Photo Books. If you don't see what you're looking for here, please contact Mike.
If you can't decide on only one image, you may be interested in our "Master Wall Collections".
Canvas Portraits
Although we do print smaller sizes on canvas, these are usually selected when you want a portrait that is 20" or larger. You have the option of a traditional Museum canvas, mounted on masonite and designed to be framed, or a Gallery Canvas, where the canvas is 'wrapped' around the sides of a thick stretcher, displaying part of the image either mirrored or extended around the corners. No framing is required on the Gallery Canvas, although mouldings and "Float Frames" are available for these as well.
Size | Gallery Canvas | Museum Canvas |
40 x 30" | 545. | n/a |
36 x 24" | 490. | 380. |
30 x 20" | 300. | 225. |
24/20 x 16" | 245. | 185. |
18 x 12" | 195. | 150. |
14 x 11" or smaller | 145. | 100. |
All canvas prints are protected with a UV inhibiting protective coating to resist fading and provide added protection against scuffs and scratches. When properly displayed (no direct sunlight), these prints can resist fading for many years.
Canvas Portraits do not require any sort of matting, glass, or further mounting to display. When the cost of these are added to traditional paper prints, quite often the extra cost of the canvas becomes more attractive for a 'wall ready' Portrait.
NOTE: Due to the nature of canvas wrapping, finished sizes may vary up to an inch from stated dimension.

Paper Size | FA Bamboo | FA Photo Rag |
36 x 24" | 180. | 140. |
30 x 20" | 140. | 125. |
24/20 x 16" | 95. | 75. |
18 x 12" | 70. | 50. |
14 x 11" or smaller | 50. | 40. |
The portrait is printed with a 1/2” to 3/4” border around the image for safer handling and to help protect against contaminating the actual printed image. This also allows for a small “reveal” around the image when matted which may include a title and the artist’s signature.
These portraits are best displayed with a mat under non-glare UV protected glass.
Note: the image size is less than stated paper size due to border.
Portfolio Cases
When you don't have enough images to create an album, our new Portfolio Cases are the answer. Portfolio Cases are designed to hold up to 12 matted prints with a minimum order of 6 prints.
Our Portfolio Cases are finely crafted with elegant Charcoal Linen and a luxurious velvet floor, kept closed by a hidden magnet closure. Mats are available in either Arctic White or Matte Black with a white core. Mats are also acid free and finished with an inside bevel to highlight the print.
The prints may be matted in either an 8 x 12" or 8 x 10" opening within an 11 x 14" outside dimension mat. Many people will take one of the matted prints and display them along side of the Portfolio Case on an easel. You then have the option of rotating the print on display with the other prints in the case. You may also mount the 11 x 14 mat under glass and into a frame of your choosing. These may then be displayed on an easel or on your wall.
Capacity | Price |
Portfolio Case with 6 Mats | 248. |
Portfolio Case with 8 Mats | 268. |
Portfolio Case with 10 Mats | 288. |
Portfolio Case with 12 Mats | 298. |
We've priced our Portfolio Cases to include the case itself as well as the acid-free mats. This allows you to add prints (priced separately above) in either of our Fine Art 'Heirloom' collections.
