This image was chosen for the "Best in Class" Award for Natural Landscapes in the Master Photographers International 2016 International Image Competition. It was also given the prestigious "Award of Distinction" and was one of the images which earned Mike the title of "Nature Photographer of the Year" for 2016.

On our way to Emerald Falls we hike along a trail that follows Gorton Creek for quite some time. Every turn of this beautiful trail presented a new 'feast for the eyes'. The greens were ethereal and glowed in the soft after-rain light of the afternoon.
