PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

Mike Guilbault, MPA, APPO has been Nationally Accredited for Environmental Portrait, Couples Portraits & Children's Portraiture by the Professional Photographers of Canada. Let Mike create that special portrait for you - for your family or friends - one that is as sensitive and as unique as you are. Portraits can add beauty and intimate charm to your home or office and be a valuable element of home décor.

Of course there are many types of portraits and we have some of the more common ones below. But in addition to these, we also cover events such as anniversaries, birthdays and family reunions. Other categories of portraiture include; glamour (typically head and shoulders), boudoir (typically full length) and figure studies (yes, these are nudes).

And last but not least, we also photograph groups such as figure skating carnivals, sports teams, swim teams, craft clubs and other youth groups as well as their adult equivalents, including clubs, organizations and events such as proms, Christmas parties and other social events where a portrait makes a treasured memento.

A Portrait Unique & Distinctive

Unique: Adjective, being the only one of its kind, unlike anything else.

Distinctive: Adjective, characteristic of one person or thing, and so serving to distinguish it from others.

This is what we strive for in each portrait we create. We not only want to capture your likeness, but also your personality. Our portraits are timeless, yet contemporary. Every portrait session begins with a free consultation to plan every detail to make this portrait - simply the best.

Family Portraits

Take time to Make a Memory. Capture the essence of your family and remember them forever in a family portrait. The portrait we create for you will be a true reflection of your family's likeness and personality.

When you have your portrait made, don't forget to include Grand Parents. Check our Generations Program in the Specials section. Check the bottom of this page for tips on how to prepare for a portrait.

Children's Portraits

They grow up so fast. The fleeting moments of those early years are quickly gone. The magic and memories of childhood can be treasured forever with an Heirloom Portrait.

Pensive, joyful, or just plain goofy, we'll take the time to create a series of portraits for you to choose from. Unlike big-box stores, we allow enough time to get it right.

Displayed in your home, portraits of your children provide a sense of security and belonging, and reminds them that they are special and loved.

Pet Portraits

Your pet is part of your family. Those who own a pet know this as truth. We work with pets and owners to capture their personality and their place in your family.

Mike's pet portraits have received provincial recognition, winning the Award of Merit from the Professional Photographers of Ontario. His love for animals, especially dogs, enables him to capture their unique personality.

To help care for less fortunate animals, $10 from every pet session will be donated to the Barrie SPCA at the end of each year.

What Next?

When you decide to have a professional family portrait made, you can be confident that we will work with you to create a timeless heirloom that you will be proud to display in your home. Traditional or contemporary, indoors or out, your portrait can be as formal or informal as you are.

Your first step is to arrange for a portrait planning session so we can determine the style of portrait you would like. We will discuss where it will be photographed, the style and colour of clothing to carry through the theme (maybe to match the decor of the room your portrait will hang), and what 'props' may be required to personalize your portrait. This attention to detail beforehand will ensure that your portrait will be everything you want it to be. Our Guide to a Successful Portrait will provide you with tips on preparing for your portrait.

Our Decorator Portraits are delivered mounted on masonite, signed and frame-ready. A protective lamination or lacquer is available to provide a pleasing and durable finish and eliminates the need for glass. Our Heirloom Canvas Portraits offer the ultimate in fine portraiture. Your portrait is permanently bonded to artist's canvas and mounted on a stretcher frame. This canvas portrait is often mistaken for a fine painting and will most certainly become a family heirloom. Our new Gallery Wraps offer a contemporary and unique 'frameless' mounting option that suits any decor. You can also find more information about print styles and finishes here.

Whether you plan on displaying your family portrait on the wall or in an Heirloom Album, we can help you choose the appropriate size, finish, frame or album to give you the most pleasure from your portrait.
