Weddings

Wedding PorcheFor over 20 years Mike Guilbault Photography has provided award winning wedding photography to couples from Barrie and Orillia, to Midland and Collingwood.  Accredited by the Professional Photographers of Canada in Environmental Wedding Photography as well as Engagement (couples) Portraiture, you can rest assured that Mike will work with you, before, during and long after your wedding to make your treasured memories all you want them to be.

Our wedding coverages start at $1500 for three hours of coverage and includes a DVD of images. Add on extra time, an album or other items to create your own package.  You choose the level of service you would like us to provide. In fact, we've even designed and produced wedding books from other photographer's images.

Where to Start?

We only photograph one wedding per weekend.  So you start your search for a photographer as soon as you've established your date - or at least narrowed it down to one or two dates. We often have dates booked, for weddings and other events, a year or more in advance, so it's never too early to start.

Your wedding photographer may be the most difficult service you will shop for to complete your wedding essentials. No matter how many samples you look at, no matter how many weddings the photographer has attended, they are still not YOUR photographs of YOUR wedding.  Because of this, you have to trust your photographer with the most important day of your life.

With the recent downturn in the economy, it seems that many people are turning to photography as a second source of income. While this may be ok for casual photography, your wedding photographs should only be trusted to a professional wedding photographer. It's one day that can't be replaced.  Please check out our blog post on why you should use a professional photographer for your wedding images.

What Happens After The Wedding?

After the wedding is when the real work begins.  This is when we sort, evaluate and select the images that end up on your DVD or in your ArtBook. Obviously, we eliminate the blinks, duplicates, the odd image that just didn't work due to either technical reasons or subject errors. What we are left with are the best images from each 'situation' photographed. They will include all the fun stuff as well as detail images and background images that we may use in the design of your ArtBook.  Then we carefully colour-balance, crop, retouch and enhance each and every photograph creating a 'Master Image' used for display or printing.

ArtBook Wedding PageIf you've ordered an ArtBook, we then story-board your images into a creative design that captures the distinct flavour of your wedding day. When the design is complete, we offer you the opportunity to view the layout for final approval.  If there's something you don't like, we change it.  When it's the way you want it, it goes to print.

Obviously there is a lot of work that goes into the finished product, be it the DVD or ArtBook. On average, including the planning sessions, photography of the wedding and post-production, we spend anywhere from 30 to 50 hours to complete your wedding photography.
