Mike Guilbault, MPA, APPO, has been Nationally Accredited for Environmental Portraiture, Couples and Children's Portraiture by the Professional Photographers of Canada. Of course there are many types of portraits. Some of the more common ones are listed below. But in addition to these, we also can capture portraits at family events such as anniversaries, family reunions and, of course, birthdays. Other 'styles' of portrait include glamour (typically head and shoulders), boudoir (often full length) and figure studies (yes, these are nudes).

We also photograph corporate events, sports events, clubs and youth groups such as sports teams (often called 'Memory Mates'), church groups (including Church Directories), proms, Christmas parties and other social events where a portrait makes a treasured memento.

FAMILY With the world spinning at a faster and faster pace, sometimes family is the only thing that grounds us, keeps us together and provides that unconditional support we often need. CHILDREN They grow up so fast. The fleeting moments of those early years are quickly gone. The magic and wonder of childhood can be treasured forever through portraiture. Pensive, joyful, or just plain goofy, we'll take the time to create a series of portraits for you to choose from. Unlike the big-box stores, we allow enough time to take the time needed to create the portrait you expect. We allow enough time to get it right. Displayed in your home, portraits of your children not only provide you with the enjoyment of memories, but it also instills a sense of security and belonging for your children and reminds them that they are special and loved. Whether the style of your portrait is created in studio or on location, at the park, your home, cottage or playground, you can choose the style of portrait you'd like. From classic to contemporary, candid to fantasy, there are many styles to bring out the personality of your child. We recommend, as with any of our portrait sessions, a pre-session consultation to discuss the style of portrait you would like, the location, clothing choices, props (or toys) and all the other details that go into an heirloom portrait.
PETS Your pet is part of your family. Those of us that own a pet know this as truth. Those of us with three Jack Russell Terriers and a Basset Hound know this as absolute truth! And yes, that's not a typo - we have THREE Jacks - and everyone knows that's a FULL HOUSE! We love photographing pets, especially puppies, but certainly not limited to dogs. We've photographed cats, horses, lizards, snakes Hedge-Hogs and parrots. And much like children, when creating a pet portrait, you have to be very patient. And like children's portrait we take the time to do it right and capture not only the likeness of your prized pet, but if possible, the personality too! (do lizards have personality?) Our award winning pet portraits have even received recognition from the Professional Photographers of Ontario.
MATERNITY Maternity is a special time when bonds grow between mother and child, but also between mother and father. And when your baby is born, the wonder is available for everyone to enjoy! Now is the time to plan for your family, but don't forget to capture this special moment in your life together, in portraits. We can put together a plan, and package, for you so that you don't miss any of the memories, starting with the maternity portrait, or 'belly shot' as some may describe it. We'll help you with decisions such as location, clothing, props, and whether to include other family members. From soft and intimate to fun and colourful, we'll create the perfect memory of this special time in your life. Portrait sessions can be done in our private studio, or in the comfort of your own home. The choice is yours.
